The Mountain Wellness Center at the Horizont Resort Hotel is built of cedar wood and offers a harmonious environment for restoring inner and physical balance. Treat yourself to exceptional wellness care that combines the power of natural herbs and fragrant essences. The best way to relax and meditate is in the relaxation pool, where there are many harmonizing lights and water attractions, and there is also a water bar. For perfect relaxation, you can use the jacuzzi for up to 10 people. The wellness center offers high-quality saunas and inhalations, including salt, Finnish, steam and infrared saunas. There is also a relaxation room with a massage bed and jacuzzi, a room with a waterfall and a cooling pool.

NORTHERN ROOM (DRY SAUNA)

SUNSHINE (INFRA SAUNA)

Invisible infrared rays provide heat that acts on the body like sunlight without generating harmful UV radiation. Staying in an infrared sauna helps can help reduce weight and break down fat.

TATRA LAGOON (SWIMMING POOL)

Our swimming pool lagoon offers a secluded space for relaxation relaxation with a variety of wellness attractions.

The water in the pool is a pleasant 33 °C and offers a whole range of water features and hydromassage attractions such as pearl jets, whirlpools and floor jets, ideal for blood circulation in the feet and water mushrooms that stimulate acupuncture points all over the body. The magical atmosphere of the entire space is completed by a special mirror foil above the pool and a view of the Tatra mountain’s natural beauty through a glass facade.

ICE Whirlwind (BUCKET)

EXPERIENCE SHOWERS

Alternating between hot and cold water activates the lymphatic system and beneficially detoxifies the body and supports immunity.

Showering can be much more than just a regular body cleanse. An increasingly popular wellness procedure, the experience shower is part of the cooling procedure after a visit to the sauna.

The experience shower is a healing treatment with positive effects on the entire body and the perfect refresher after warming up in one of our saunas.

RULES FOR PROPER SAUNA USE

It is the responsibility of a visitor to the wellness centre to follow the instructions of the operator. Consult your doctor to see if sauna use is appropriate for you, taking into account any health conditions. Sauna use is not recommended for: pregnant women, diabetics, patients with heart, kidney or thyroid disease, and people with high blood pressure. Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs are prohibited from entering the sauna area of ​​the centre. Children under 12 years of age are only allowed to enter the sauna area when accompanied by an adult. For hygiene reasons, only towels are allowed in the sauna area, while swimsuits are allowed in the pool area and hot tubs. Children under 12 years of age are allowed to enter the wellness centre until 7:00 p.m., while they can only use the sauna area until 5:00 p.m.

BEFORE ENTERING THE SAUNA

  • It is recommended to visit the sauna 1-2 times a week, with each session lasting between 20-30 minutes. To enjoy all the wellness facilities on offer, it is recommended to stay between 1.5 and 2 hours.
  • Before entering the sauna, we recommend not eating heavy food or drinking alcohol.
  • Before entering the sauna, please store any watches, phones, jewellery, etc. in the locker room.
  • Before entering the sauna, take a shower, wash with soap and wipe yourself dry.

DURING YOUR SAUNA VISIT

As the wellness centre is a mixed type of sauna (men + women), please enter the saunas without swimwear and shoes and cover yourself with the provided sheet. Entering the sauna in a swimsuit can have detrimental effects on health due to the synthetic materials that these bathing suits are often made from. At a temperature above 50°C these materials denature and highly carcinogenic may be released, thus harming yourself and other sauna users.

  • For hygienic reasons, spread a sheet under your entire body, including your feet. First, sit on the lowest bench and gradually move to a higher seating level to prevent temperature shock.
  • While in the saunas, breathe slowly but not very deeply through your nose,. Whilst in the sauna, it is recommended to use various
    peelings, oils, and cosmetics, which we will be happy to offer you. If the temperature is too high, please leave the sauna as soon as possible.
  • When using the sauna, please behave quietly and politely, avoiding loud conversations, swearing, and discussions. Saunas are a place of peace and meditation.
  • After leaving the saunas it is recommended to cool down the body, either with a cold shower or a cooling pool with cold water.
  • When cooling down, cool the body from the feet to the heart, never pour cold water directly on a warm head (let yourself cool down first before using the Ice bucket).
  • Each Sauna cycle should last between 15-20 min. Afterwards, rest in a supine position in relaxation rooms on our loungers. Wrap yourself in a sheet and lie down, close your eyes, and relax for a few minutes.
  • Do not eat, drink or read whilst in the sauna.
  • In the intervals between sauna cycles, try to replenish fluids and vitamin C. This can be done in the form of small snacks such as fruit which also helps to replenish missing minerals in the body.

AFTER THE SAUNA

  • Do not wash your body with soap after the last sauna session
  • Before leaving the entire sauna session, it is important to rest for 15 to 20 minutes so that the body can adapt to the change in temperature. Do not exert yourself unnecessarily immediately after exiting.
  • After the session, it is important to replenish fluids. Fruit juices, teas and mineral waters are the most suitable. During one sauna session, you can sweat up to 0.5 litres of water, which, in addition to toxins, also removes salt, vitamin C and other minerals.
  • You can end the sauna session with a chosen massage or use one of our cosmetic and relaxation services.
  • You can enter the private whirlpool pool or whirlpool (or other common areas) in a swimsuit.
  • Entering the sauna provides protection for the body for seven days by increasing its resistance to disease. It is recommended to repeat the sauna session at least once a week.
